Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for July 13th, 2023

Snake River Flows from Jackson Lake Dam have ramped up to 2000cfs and this has put the fishing into a bit of a challenging situation for the next couple of days.  When it stabilizes, things might get back into what we had for the prior two weeks, which include diverse emergences of Calinuria golden stones, the smaller Aloperla stones, green drakes, yellow sallies, caddis, and PMDs.  Dry and tandem dry rigs are producing along banks…

Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for July 3rd, 2023

Snake River Caddis and flavs are still there although waning, but strong emergences of yellow sallies and golden stones remain.  Green drakes and PMDs are also present.  Hatches start around 11am and build in momentum until around 3pm.  Although heavy thunderstorms can limit visibility from time to time, the surface action remains strong throughout the drainage.  Riffles are the primary target, with seams, eddies, and troughs also with focusing on. Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for June 23rd, 2023

Snake River Runoff peaked almost a month ago, flows are receding, and the Snake is getting into solid early season shape with caddis, flavs, yellow sallies, big goldens and the smaller alloperla stones emerging on all reaches (the latter of which is heavy from South Park down to Sheep Gulch).
