Snake River full day trips occur on eight sections of river within Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and parcels under the authority of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  Well over 95 percent of the trout on this river are native Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout and Yellowstone cutthroat trout.  In fact, the Snake River is considered to have the strongest population of native cutthroat left in the Rocky Mountain West.
These trout are world renowned for their eager rise to dry flies with beautifully slow takes.  But they also present a formidable challenge once hooked.  Snake River cutthroat use current and structure to their advantage, so don’t expect to get them in very quickly.   These cutthroats are anything but weak.  15 inch to 17 inch cutthroat are caught on a fairly regular basis.  18 inch to 20 inch cutthroat are not uncommon.  And some individual strains can go to 22 inches or more.  The largest fly caught cutthroat to come from the Snake River measured 25 ¾ inches
Wyoming’s Snake River is considered one of the most beautiful streams an angler can fish in North America.  Majestic views of the Teton Range, the Gros Ventre Range, and Snake River Canyon exist on almost all reaches of the river.  Because of strict usage regulations by management agencies, these sections are also considered amongst the least congested in the Rocky Mountain West.  The Snake is also considered one of the best autumn fisheries in the West.  Cutthroats feed ravenously on short-wing stoneflies, mahogany duns, blue-winged olives, and hecuba mayflies from the middle of August until the end of October.

Snake River fly fishing trips are done exclusively by drift boat.  While most of the fishing is done from the boat, the Snake River offers ample opportunity for getting into the water and wade fishing the abundant riffles and side channels found on every reach of river.  Whether you are a novice looking to improve your skills or a highly experienced fly fisher looking for a new challenge, the Snake River will not disappoint.  Shuttles to and from the river, beverages, and a full streamside lunch (with custom orders available) are in
